The LEGO Mindstorms NXT has been available to consumers since the Fall of 2006. The release of NXT provided a second platform for the FLL competition.

Specifications

  • 32 bit processor
  • 3 servo motor outputs
  • 4 sensor inputs (connectors similar to RJ11)
  • Servo motors have built in rotation sensor
  • Sensors include touch, ultrasonic distance, sound, and an improved light sensor.
  • "iPod" style appearance
  • Parts based on Technic (studless lego) lines
  • Programming language (NXT-G) produced by National Instruments based on Labview. Compatible with OS X and Windows XP.
  • Programming of NXT brick via Bluetooth or USB
  • Compatible with Bluetooth
